Assessment Title: M1: Personal Strengths Inventory Purpose of this assessment This assessment is an opportunity for self-reflection, self-awareness, and personal development. The assessment requires that you think about your own personality, values, and strengths and whether the specific character strengths are most valuable or relevant to your life. Everyone has different strengths and the more we understand our own strengths, the better we can use those to navigate through our lives. This specialization assessment is part of Module 1 - Laying the Foundation, so connecting your strengths to the requirements of navigating through college is included. Learning Outcome Alignment 1.3: Identify personal strengths and areas for growth related to the learning process including the theory of multiple intelligences, successful intelligence, and multimodal learning. 2.2: Assess personal patterns, habits, and potential barriers which affect learning. Review Course Resources Character Strengths Inventory : This is a Google Sheet Template that you copy into your own Google Drive to complete. Requirements For this assessment you will: 1. Complete the Character Strengths Inventory. First make a copy of the Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. Then complete the inventory in your new Google Sheet. 2. Complete a written analysis of those materials following the outline provided in Appendix A . 3. Submit a link to the Google Sheet with the Character Strengths Inventory in it and a link to the Google Doc file with your written analysis Google files title should use the following format: Assessment Title_Last Name_Date” Specifications Rubric Criteria Specifications Met/ Not Yet Met Complete Inventory Inventory has been copied to your personal drive. Inventory has been completed. Most Important Strengths Provides a comprehensive and insightful discussion of character attributes already demonstrated strongly. (if applicable) Thoughtfully discusses character attributes not on the provided list, which are considered strengths. Explains the rationale behind considering these attributes strengths. Clearly identifies whether a theme or pattern in the attributes exists. If there is a theme or pattern, it is discussed along with providing detailed examples and explanations. Articulates a strong and well-supported connection between the identified strengths and their potential impact on navigating through college. Provides specific scenarios or examples. Strengths You Most Want to Develop: Thoughtfully discusses the character attributes the individual wants to focus on developing further. Provides a clear rationale for selecting these attributes and discusses potential benefits. Clearly explains why you chose the attributes/strengths to focus on further. Provides insight into personal goals, challenges, or motivations related to these attributes. Clarity and Organization Reflection is a minimum length of 350 words. Presents the analysis in a clear and well-organized manner. Uses proper grammar and writing conventions, enhancing the overall quality of the analysis. Revisions (if necessary): If you are asked to revise this assignment and you choose to do so, please make sure you read through the feedback carefully before beginning revisions. Do not update your original Google Doc! Do not change any of your initial work or the feedback you receive from Dr. Stano. Do not use track changes to revise your initial submission. Instead, you should create a new file and name it “Assignment Title_Last Name_Date_Revision”. Revisions that are not submitted correctly will be returned without being graded so you can submit them correctly. Appendix A: Analysis Prompts Most Important Strengths According to your inventory, which character attributes do you already demonstrate strongly? Are there attributes not on this list that you would consider strengths you have? Discuss those! Is there a theme or pattern you see in these attributes? How do you think these strengths will help you navigate through college? Strengths You Most Want to Develop: What character attributes do you want to focus on developing further? These could be strengths you already possess or they could be attributes on this list that you aren’t already strong on but would like to develop further.
