DEL Task 1 – Plan, organise & deliver one 30-min session to a group
(during training)
Frequently-asked questions
1
If I complete this task during training, why do I have to submit proof of completing it after
training concludes?
Good question. There are a few reasons why:
●
For compliance purposes, CQU must keep on file, your work for this task
●
So you have a better chance of attaining a satisfactory result on your first official
assessment attempt. On delivery day, your TAE assessor will give you feedback on your
session documentation and delivery. You can use their feedback to revise and improve
session documentation before submission, if needed.
2
What happens if my session delivery is not satisfactory?
If your session delivery is not yet satisfactory on delivery day, your TAE program leader/assessor
will discuss with you, an action plan to attain a satisfactory result. For example:
If just one segment of your session was not satisfactory, your assessor may ask you to:
–
deliver that segment of your session again, time permitting
–
write a detailed self-reflection, describing what you will do differently next time
If general delivery was not satisfactory, they may ask you to:
–
deliver the entire session again that day, time permitting
–
deliver the session again on another day (if you deliver this in the workplace, they may
ask you to submit a video of the session)
–
discuss alternative options, as appropriate.
Your TAE program leader will monitor your progress throughout training, and will only allow you
to proceed with this assessment task if they are confident in your ability to achieve a satisfactory
result. We’re here to support you, so discuss any queries or concerns with your TAE program
leader.
How to get started on this task

Completed feedback forms (or equivalent) from the learners

Feedback form: group-based learning
You must provide written feedback from the learner group. Use the feedback forms provided in
the templates document that we use to support this program, or discuss a suitable alternative with
your TAE program leader.
Ideally, you provide feedback from all learners, but in rare situations when this is not possible
(e.g. a learner leaves before providing feedback), since a TAE assessor will directly observe
your session, the assessor who reviews your portfolio will use their discretion when reviewing
the learner feedback you provide.

complete all parts of this questionnaire and submit as your way of competing this part of the
task. For a satisfactory result you must:
–
complete all parts of the questionnaire as instructed
–

training skills that make sense given the feedback received.
●
Option 2—Answer the questions posed
For a satisfactory result, you must:

–
meet the minimum word count listed, or provide sufficient quality information in your
response (your assessor will use their discretion here)
–

deliver presentations and group-based learning. Your suggestions must make sense,
