1. What is your name? Hello, my name is Annie Namgoong. 2. What is the job you are seeking? Thank you for taking the time to review my submission for the role of Director of Operations in Customer Service. 3. What are three reasons why you are seeking this job, and what are three reasons why you are the best candidate for the job? I am looking to further my career to the next step and apply all the experience I have gained working in the customer service field for the past 20+ years into the role of Director of Ops. I have worked in many roles in the organization. This has afforded me the opportunity to understand the business from the entry-level position through the manager role. I have successfully built relationships within the organization that will allow me to further enhance and develop our site to become the top-ranking site in the country. These interdepartmental relationships also position the organization to have an advantage over the other nine sites. 4. What is your work history and volunteer experience? (Discuss specifics such as: job responsibilities, positions held, skills learned). When joining the organization in 2009, I started as a Customer Service Representative. Although I had managerial experience, I had not previously worked in the cable industry. It was crucial for me to understand the ins and outs of the organization so that I can fully grasp the business. This position laid the groundwork for my understanding of a customer-first attitude. Quickly mastering that role, I transitioned to the role of Quality Assurance. This position afforded me the opportunity to transfer my skills and knowledge to the frontline staff. This knowledge transfer allowed me to further position the organization for success. When an opportunity became available as a team leader in the role of Supervisor, I seized the opportunity to join our leadership team. Understanding there was more to conquer, I transitioned to the role of manager seven years later, which is the role I currently hold. 5. What experience do you have working in teams? Throughout my time in the organization, I have successfully built effective teams and worked in already developed teams. I bring a level of enthusiasm that is motivating to other team members. I hold myself and my partners in tasks accountable to achieve success in the most effective and productive way possible. I maintain the needs of the business as a priority. I have been on a frontline team, the Quality Assurance team, the Supervisor team and now, the Management team. 6. What was the most successful project you tackled as a member of a team?
As a Supervisor, I helped to launch our newest training program. I participated as a content contributor, a facilitator for the program and the leader of the first team to complete the training. The program length was thirteen weeks, our longest program to date. We were able to determine the success of the program and my leadership of the program on the performance metric of each team member. We were ranking in the 10 th percentile of the site. Our attrition was also significantly improved as this was a priority of the organization. 7. What are 2 professional or educational goals you have achieved as an individual? I proudly celebrate that I am the first Hispanic American to secure the role of Customer Service Manager at my site. I have achieved this success with hard work and dedication to my craft. I have re-enrolled in school to secure my degree and a better understanding of the organization. 8. What are 2 professional or educational goals you plan to achieve in the future as an individual? I hope to secure the role of Director of Ops and increase our sites ranking to the top of the leaderboard. 9. What are your future plans? (i.e. What will you complete your degree in? What career do you plan to pursue? What are your career ambitions?) I am currently working on my degree in Organizational Management. My hope is to continue to transfer my knowledge to my team members for further improvement across my site. I want to further develop of training programs to enhance the leadership segments. 10. Overall, why should you be hired for the job? I can confidently say I know I am the right candidate for the role. My commitment to exceptional customer service is unwavering. I possess the fortitude to manage through difficult change, understand the importance of effective collaboration and have a proven track record of driving unsuccessful teams to the top of the leaderboards.
