Figure 1 Computer desktop
This is my computer desktop that I built during 2021. I originally set this up to play online games with my
friends, though I ended up using this mostly for schoolwork and video watching. For most of my uses of this computer there are no real issues or limitations, but I wouldn’t mind trying to upgrade to the 40 series graphics or to the 5950x3d just to have the extra headroom in when I do game with my friends. My favorite part of my set up is the dual monitors and new audio speakers.
Replace the text in this section
with a summary of the goals of the breakpoint
, along with any responses to questions in the instructions, and any other interesting details about your process – in complete sentences. Below your summary, include any relevant images or screenshots with at least one sentence of explanation above the image and a caption underneath the image. If you do not have an explanation and caption for your image/screenshot, then the image is not needed! Images are only intended to provide context to the narrative of your lab report. 1

Figure 4. Privacy settings
After installation I checked the preset settings in Brave shown in Figure 4 and turned off all the data collection settings. I further changed the settings in the Sheilds tab shown in Figure 3 but only the trackers and cookies settings were changed to aggressive and cross-site respectively. I had done this to keep as much of my data private as I could in my initial understanding of this new browser.

Figure 5. Google vs Brave
I decided to stick with the default engine in Brave, since it’s the number 1 secure browser according to 12 Secure Browsers That Protect Your Privacy in 2023
(Taylor, Restore Privacy, 9/10/2023) which was provided by our professor. I tested Brave vs Google using the string privacy browsers. Looking at the results the results are very similar except the Brave engine shows everything more streamlined with the AI suggestions tab at the top. Unlike Brave, Google shows more graphics on the page with different links at the ready on the side.

, including answers to the following, in complete sentences:
What challenges did you encounter and/or what most interested you about this lab?
How did you address your challenges and/or what additional research did you do?

EFERENCES
Replace the text in this section with a list of any references you used to complete this lab.
You may use Zotero Bib (zbib.org), a citation engine, to format your standard citations using IEEE or MLA format. For example, I have cited this CrowdStrike security blog entry using Zotero Bib in IEEE format: https://www.crowdstrike.com/blog/hypervisor-jackpotting-lack-of-antivirus-support-opens-the-door-to-
adversaries/
. [1] C. S.-C. Intelligence, “Hypervisor Jackpotting, Part 3: Lack of Antivirus Support Opens the Door to Adversaries,” crowdstrike.com

door-to-adversaries/. [Accessed: May 22, 2023]
For generative AI prompts, please use this format:
AI Tool [LLM], response to “
prompt,” Company, Date of Access, link to response
. Here is an example:
Bing Chat [GPT-4 language model], response to “I would like to share best password practices with my family. What are current views on how to create a strong password?,” Microsoft & OpenAI, October 22, 2023, https://sl.bing.net/gg8oaW2ptGm
.
If you do not have access to the stored response, cite the general link, and provide the applicable portion of the response in an appendix. C
OLLABORATION
Replace the text in this section with an explanation of any work you completed with a peer, tutor, instructor, or relative, including any tips or advice you found helpful on Slack.
If you worked entirely alone, that’s perfectly fine—simply state so. 6
