The Social Security Act establishes the minimum safety and health standards that should
be satisfied by healthcare suppliers and providers engaging in Medicare programs to promote
better health.
Townsend (2022) claims that certification or licensure is essential in ensuring that
the providers have the necessitated competencies to promote high-quality care and overall patient
outcomes. The Medicare certification practice enhances effectiveness in the enrollment practice
for Medicare suppliers and providers. The Medicare certification or license initial step involves
getting a National Provider Identifier
(NPI). The next phase is Medicare enrollment, filling the
paper 855b and sending it to the Medicare administrator that oversees the state. It may also entail
filling online through provider enrollment. Healthcare settings should adhere to Medicare's
Conditions for Coverage (CFCs). The CFCs requirements entail the facility design, operational
organization, and patient care delivery. It is significant to ensure that CFCs are adhered to by all
healthcare providers. The final step is a compliance survey that evaluates whether the healthcare
settings adhere to Medicare's CFCs.
Private facility licensure involves the requirements offered by Medicare to promote high-
quality healthcare service delivery. The licensure entails compliance with conditions of payment
and participation that necessitates the private facilities to adhere to established standards in the
government's policies. The private organizations engage in certification to ensure that the
healthcare providers have the knowledge and competencies to promote superior quality care
delivery to ensure better populations health.
The Minnesota licensure supervises and controls
the licensure of providers to safeguard, improve and maintain the Minnesotans population's
health. Minnesota private facility licensure offers the standards that govern the provision of the
services to promote proper management, safety, and health of beneficiaries.
