What are the pros and cons of using NAT as part of a network design? Using NAT allows multiple endpoint devices to mask their private IP addresses with a public-facing IP address. The most significant disadvantage to using NAT is network delays. Network delays severely impact the performance of VoIP applications. What are the pros and cons of different internal routing protocols? All internal routing protocols differ in how they communicate with other neighboring devices. Internal routing protocols are either distance vectors or link states. RIP is an example of a distance vector, while OSPF is an example of a link state. A third Cisco proprietary protocol named EGIRP encompasses characteristics of both distance vector and link state. Distance vector protocol is easier to configure than link-state protocol. However, convergence is faster with link-state protocol than with distance vector protocol.
