I NCIDENT R EPORT Case Number: ___23-00001__________ Incident Location: The corner of E. Alexander Road and N. Lamb Road Date/Time: August 9, 2023 at 2:30 pm Unit Number: ____74_______ Complaint Name: __________________________ D/O/B: Ethnicity: Address: _________________________________ Phone: __________________________ Subject Name: Marshawn Terrel Lynch D/O/B: 5/21/1992 Ethnicity: African American Address: ______1930 Grove Street___________________________ Phone: _____6532345541_____________________ Narrative : I Officer Weber responded to a call to service for a disabled vehicle on August 9, 2023, around 2:30 pm. When arriving at the scene the vehicle was a Black Ford Shelby GT Mustang which had the front driver-side tire and rim completely gone while the engine was being dragged on the ground. The driver is a well-built African-American male wearing an orange long-sleeve shirt with blue jeans and visible underwear with the Beast mode branding. who had the driver's door opened while sitting in the driver's seat while the vehicle was off. The suspect was asleep in the driver's seat, so I called for backup. Officer Mullins and Officer Kreg reported to the scene, and I initiated a conversation with the suspect. He claims the car is not his and is visibly out of it, possibly under the influence. The suspect claimed to live on Grove Street but was coming from Waffle House onwards Rd. I then asked the suspect if he could hop out of the car, and he responded by saying “If I want to.” The suspect is refusing to get out of the car. The suspect claims to not know his name and has no ID on him as well. I asked his name several more times and he told me his name was Terrel Niche which I could not find in any system. The suspect still delivers hardly any answers when I ask who the car belongs to. After we ran the Tags it said the vehicle was not registered and we then continued to ask if it was stolen too but the suspect still refused to answer. There are multiple phones inside the vehicle, but the suspect claims they are not his. The suspect claims to not drink or do any form of drugs. The rest of the Officers and I waited until Sgt Adams arrived
at the scene. The suspect is still unresponsive using head nods and other hand gestures while not being compliant. Upon Sgt Adams's arrival the suspect is refusing to get out of the vehicle and is arguing about the situation but is much more conversational even though he was arguing that there was no wrongdoing. The suspect claims there is nothing wrong with sitting in the car if it's off and the rims do not matter. After multiple warnings to exit the vehicle, Sgt Adams proceeded to remove the suspect from the car with the help of Officers Kreg and Jones. Upon handcuffing the suspect, they noted he smelled of alcohol as the Officers checked the suspect's pockets for weapons or drugs, I ran inventory on the car. I proceeded to take the suspect to my vehicle to take him into custody for suspicion of DUI, transported him to LVDC, and booked him without incident. During the booking and fingerprint scan, it was verified the suspect was NFL running back Marshawn Lynch. Nothing further happened.
