2.
Explanation of the information provided by the command:
a.
Default Gateway: The default gateway is the computer or router that forwards a network
communication from one network to another. In this case, the default gateway is an IP

b.
DHCP server: The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol configures a device with its own
temporary, leased, IP address along with the IP of the default gateway. This is why the
DHCP Server has the same IP address as the gateway IP because I am using a private
network.
c.
DNS server: The Domain Name Service maps names to IP addresses and vice versa. In this
case the DNS server IP was the same as the DHCP and default Gateway.

that was sent between the device and the network. The result also shows me the minimum,

10.
Explanation of the TRACERT command and the information returned:
Between the two tracert commands that I did on the SU website and the Yahoo website, the
connection seemed to be faster to the SU Website. To connect to the SU website, it only took 13 hops,
or different connection stops along the way, that were all below 100ms.
However, there was one hop
to a random IP address that took 81ms. For the Yahoo website, it took 15 hops, or connections, to
reach the website. Each of these hops were under 50ms however.
