This scenario covers Task 2.8 Calculate Quantities and Task 2.9 – Produce Cost Estimates
This assessment is a real-work project where you have responsibilities for producing estimated costs

The Quote List for Project no. 20361 contains a number of supplier prices that have been attained for
the project. These prices should be used in providing the estimate for the work.
You may refer to BAA Constructions Rates Schedules, or you may choose to research current prices
for the various items.
The estimated time to complete the work quoted is 14 weeks from commencement to hand-over.
You can use the BAA Project Estimating Template (Excel Workbook) to collate the information and
calculate the price or you can use any other electronic estimating system you would prefer to use.
The project will be allocated to a Supervisor who is a wage earning employee of the company. The
supervisor has a company car and does not get a travel allowance.
The supervisor works 48 hours per week and will have their time equally divided between four (4)
projects including this project.
The project will also use a labourer who is also a wage earner but gets paid a travelling allowance as
they are not provided a vehicle.
You can use the hourly rate template to determine this rate. These overhead costs will need to be
calculated and included the price.
Use the completed BAA Estimating Worksheets from assessment 2.8 and add in all the costing as
mentioned in the inclusions (from the scenario) and add all the additional information from key
requirements below to complete this task.
