Module 8 Short Responses – Question 7 How can history serve as a lens for the rest of the academic program you'll pursue at SNHU? Has this course changed the way you think about what you want to study? Why
or why not?
Please respond to this question in two to three sentences, using proper grammar.
My degree is in Forensic Accounting, I don't think history has changed what I want to study. I am almost at the end of my degree program. Even though I find history fascinating, I prefer the more European aspect of history, it seems so much vaster and there is so much more. America in comparison is a much 'younger' country.

I knew of the issues that caused a lot of the Irish to flee Ireland and go to the States, but I wasn't aware of the problems faced once they got here. I think what surprised me the most about the prejudice the Irish immigrants face was the 'bullying' they faced. even though they practiced similar religions it became a huge problem for the Protestant Americans.
Module 8 Short Responses – Question 9 In one paragraph, explain which parts of your historical investigation and analysis were
most interesting to you. Which parts were less interesting? Be sure to use proper grammar.
The most exciting part for me was the Irish were outcasts and victimized during their time here, they were seen as a lower class until it suited the Americans. Once the Americans understood they could use the Irish to benefit themselves, they allowed them to integrate. The
'differences' between their religion and how they came about to move here were very interesting. The movement via Ellis Island was incredible to read about. I don't think I found anything less interesting from this topic.
