Here, groundwater circulates through the Madison Limestone, dissolving the limestone. The yellow and white terraces you see here result when the water reaches the surface and cools. What mineral and/or rock makes up these terraces? Karst landscapes. f. Check and double-click the problem 3a placemark to fly to Mammoth Cave, KY. The placemark falls on a round-ish depression that is filled with water. If you look around the area, there are quite a few of these round-ish ponds. Given that this area is karstic, what is this feature? g. Check and double-click the problem 3b placemarks to fly to the Lost River near Orleans, IN. The stream flows from east to west here and disappears at the westernmost 3b placemark. Given that this is a karst landscape, what feature might this river disappearing (flowing) into? h.
