This course assumes that students will move at roughly the same pace. There are deadlines for assignments, most of which are due the Monday following the unit (though one-week extensions for normal quizzes and assignments are automatic). Further extensions are possible after communication with the professor. You can also speed through the course ahead of the rest of the class. Week 1: Sept 6 (wed)-12 (tues): Welcome Geographers! ! Monday Sept. 18th at noon: The introductory quiz and Conscientious Citation quiz are both due. If you are taking the one-week automatic extension, the extension date is Sept. 25th at noon. If you join the course after Sept. 11th, you have one week to complete the quiz from your join date (BrightSpace records this automatically). Week 2: Sept. 13 (wed)-19 (tues): Capitalism as a global force ! Sept 25 at the end of the day: Cornell notes assignment is due . If you are taking the automatic one- week extension, the due date is the end of the day on Oct. 2nd. Week 3: Sept. 20 (wed) -26 (tues): Colonialism as a global force ! Oct. 2 at noon: CREW quiz for Colonialism as a global force is due. Week 4: Sept. 27 (wed) - Oct 3 (tues): Climate change as a global force: the science ! Oct. 9 at noon: CREW quiz for climate change as a global force is due. Week 5: Oct 4 (wed)- 7 (fri): Climate change, scale, and unevenness ! Monday Oct. 16th at noon: Climate Change, scale and unevenness CREW quiz due Oct 9-10: Fall Break! ! No tutorial on Oct. 9th. Nothing is due! It's Fall break! Week 6: Oct. 11(wed)-17 (tues): Demographics and unevenness ! Mon Oct. 23rd at noon: demographics quiz due (after Fall break). Week 7: Oct. 18 (wed) - 24 (tues): Predictive forces: The poverty gap and climate change ! Mon. Oct. 30 at noon: Predictive forces CREW quiz due Week 8: Oct. 25 (wed) - 31 (tues): Understanding power through science: Critical physical geography ! Mon. Nov. 6th at noon: Understanding power through science CREW quiz due. Week 9: Nov. 1 (wed) - 7 (tues): Critical Physical Geography in practice ! Mon.
