ENG-122 MODULE 8-1 DP 2
Persuasive Writing DP
Hey, everyone:
To me, an effective argument is one where you do your research and prepare your standpoint after seeing all sides of the topic. An effective argument has a valid claim, a reason for that claim, and evidence to support the claim. You should also make sure to include opposing
views to any argument and show evidence as to why you think those opposing views are wrong. Make sure to aim your arguments at the intended audience and use evidence that applies to that audience. To create an effective argument, you should probably focus on more of a persuasive writing style or expository. I would use an outline and a strong thesis statement to begin. Then make sure your body paragraphs relate to the topic of that paragraph and support your thesis statement. Make sure to provide enough evidence to support your statement as well. Proofreading is a must and you should probably print out a hard copy and come back to it in a few days and go over it again to make any needed changes before submitting the final draft.
