Chapter 1 is telling me and instructing me that life is changing. Children, adults, technology, everything is advancing or receding in how we act and deal with certain things. We cannot teach like we used to and we cannot expect everyone to learn the same as the previous generation or use the same things we were given. Chapter 2 is saying that because everything is changing we have to “march off the map” and be more creative (in the way you teach, the way you keep your students engaged in the lesson, and the way they problem solve); due to the fact that we have an attention span of nat. Chapter 3 explains that we have “Natives” among us. Which to further explain means that we have a generation that is still learning how to use this growing technology while the newer generation is born into this age where we “cannot function” without it. So teaching a generation where that is all they know, would we be ready? What helpful insights did you gain from the assigned section

The insight that I was given helped me understand that it is not just about my way of teaching the students, but how I can help the new generations grow and keep them interested. That not everything has to be by the book or by the rules, you can veer off the map to teach a bright generation.
