Section 1: Horror Short Story
It was a dark and stormy night, the wind howling through the trees like a chorus of tortured souls. The rain beat relentlessly against the windows of
the old Victorian house, adding to the feeling of unease that hung in the air.
Inside, Sarah paced back and forth, her heart pounding in her chest. Her daughter, Emily, had been acting strange lately. She had become withdrawn,
spending hours locked away in her room. Sarah had tried to talk to her, to get her to open up, but Emily would only respond with a blank stare.
Sarah's worry grew with each passing day. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. She had even gone so far as to consult
a therapist, who had assured her that it was just a phase, that Emily would snap out of it soon enough.
But Sarah wasn't convinced. There was something sinister at play, something lurking in the shadows. She couldn't shake the feeling that her
daughter was in danger, that something or someone was trying to take her away.
And then, one night, Sarah heard it. A low, guttural growl coming from Emily's room. She rushed to the door, her heart pounding in her ears. She
threw it open, only to find Emily sitting on her bed, her eyes vacant, her body shaking.
"Emily, what's wrong?" Sarah cried, her voice filled with desperation.
But Emily didn't respond. Instead, she turned her head slowly, her eyes locking with Sarah's. And then, with a voice that was not her own, she
spoke.
"Leave us be, Sarah. We have plans for Emily. Plans that you cannot stop."
