By aspiring to guide his society back to safety, Hamlet qualifies as a mono-mythical hero since he too desires to set his world right.

The author asserts that Hamlet’s intentions are embedded in soliloquys the main being “to be or not to be.” This is an intention by Hamlet to save his people.

The parenthetical citations differ from other secondary sources because they include the act, the scene and line numbers. However secondary sources only have the author name, year and page number.

No I don’t think there was anything confusing about the essay. All the arguments were well laid out by the author.

Two key ideas that exemplify archetypical literary criticism is portray of Hamlet as monomythical hero. Typically a hero journey begins by separation or departure, action and ends with their return
The action occurs when Hamlet is in the belly of the well which is turning point in his life to return and save himself and family.
6) What did this particular perspective add to your understanding of
Hamlet
?
Hamlet is unlikely hero. He is unsure of what he wants to achieve and his adventure leads to an awakening and thus his return
7) Did you notice anything about the way in which this essay was written that seems to contradict essay “rules” you have been taught in the past? If so, explain.
There is no specific organizational structure but rather an integration of different ideas which can
be confusing.
