Nature , 608 (7921), 122-134. These papers are posted online. Your memo will be 2 pages long at most (1-inch margins, use single spacing at 12-point font), excluding references and appendices (back up materials). You are expected to show that you have read the papers in the memo. But summaries of the papers are NOT sufficient . I am expecting a critical review of their contents. What questions are not addressed? Are there limitations in the methods? Do the papers have clear policy implications? Students are encouraged to make use of all the material learned in the class and of additional material to supplement their arguments. Grading  Late assignments will receive a 0 grade  Facts need to be accompanied by appropriate citations.  Memos that simply summarize the papers will not receive a passing grade.  Answering the survey is part of the assignment and counts towards the assignment grade.  Individuals who volunteer to share their findings will receive extra-credit. Variables, different ways of calculation, what more measures to include, how to apply these measures, new contexts “this is a way it can be improved”
