Many cities worldwide such as London and Dubai, have tremendously thrived and expanded by riding on the crest of tourism. An excellent example is demonstrated in the animated video provided for this classwork. In this short film, Dina goes on vacation in Dallas. For several days, she enjoys the experience, moving across fascinating sites like restaurants, public transport facilities, hotels, and sports centers. Dina also hires hotel rooms for night rests. Dina pays for all the city services and facilities she utilizes during all these moments. Aside from revues that Dina leaves behind, she also carries and posts pictures of her vacation on social media, notably advertising the city as a fascinating tourism destination. Besides, Johnson's family cannot afford to resist Dallas as the best city to hold their conferences, listening to Dina. This example best demonstrates how tourism can remarkably enhance business and advertises the town for potential economic growth. Global statistics indicate that tourism contributes a significant proportion of the world GDP. Besides, a substantial proportion of jobs in most countries rely on tourists (Pololikashvili). Think about those who work in restaurants, sports centers, and hotels utilized by tourists when they visit an area. Besides, they move around buying from shopping centers, increasing disposable income. However, with the coming of COVID-19, which almost shut the entire
Last Name 2 world, tourism went to its knees as countries-imposed travel restrictions and closed their borders. As a result, many jobs got lost and business shrunk by significant margins (UNWTO). Fortunately, the advent of vaccines and the reduction of cases allowed the lifting of measures that have seen a considerable revival of the tourism sector. As we enter into the future, there should be the adoption of strategies including new technology to keep the industry afloat even during pandemics.
