2 Question 1 Indian Farmers' Protest against Agricultural Laws. I chose this topic because the crisis with the Indian farmers and their demonstrations against the agricultural regulations in India is connected to recent changes that have been made to the nation's agricultural sector. The new rules, enacted in September 2020, have been met with significant opposition and have been the impetus for major demonstrations among farmers around the nation. Most people believe that the new legislation will be to the advantage of giant businesses, while on the other hand, it will be harmful to small farms (Mashal, Schmall and Goldman, 2021). The regulations make it simpler for huge firms to purchase land from farmers and sell their goods directly to customers, allowing them to sidestep the conventional method of wholesale marketplaces that the government controls. As a result, many farmers are worried that they will be left behind and that the new legislation will eventually be detrimental to their ability to make a living. The farmers were also concerned that the rules would halt government purchase of agricultural commodities, which secures a market for their products, and the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system, which guaranteed a minimum price for their crops. Political science has several connections to the current situation with Indian farmers and their demonstrations against agricultural legislation. First, the government's involvement in moulding and regulating the agriculture industry is brought to light by passing the new legislation and the subsequent protests. The Indian parliament enacted the legislation, and the administration has been actively engaged in attempting to solve the issues raised by the protesting farmers. This exemplifies the government's authority to make choices that may significantly affect a sector of the economy (Jeet Singh, 2021).
3 Second, the farmers are using their political power by joining together to change the direction of government policy via these demonstrations. The fact that the demonstrations have persisted for so long and attracted such a big number of participants is a testament to the effectiveness of organized action and the freedom of the individual to be heard in the public square. Question 2 What Canadian political party would support your views? My analysis of the issue with the Indian farmers who are demonstrating against the country's agricultural restrictions is likely to find favor with the New Democratic Party of Canada (NDP), which represents Canada's official opposition party. The New Democratic Party (NDP) has long been a vocal supporter of indigenous people's rights and other oppressed groups' efforts to achieve social and economic justice. The party is concerned about the impact of trade accords on farmers and the stability of the food supply. It is anticipated that it would support the farmers' requests for more fair treatment in the agricultural sector. The crisis has brought attention to the influence of political parties and interest groups on the discussion of agricultural regulations. Political parties and interest groups have been active in voicing their approval or disapproval of the legislation, organizing demonstrations, and lobbying the government for a different solution. This exemplifies interest groups' and political parties' power to influence government action (Jeet Singh, 2021). Question 3 Implications of the Issue to the society

4 Riots and scuffles with police, destruction of public property, and even loss of life have all resulted from the massive demonstrations. There is now widespread anxiety and unease as a result of this. As a result of the demonstrations, the supply chain has been interrupted, costing farmers, dealers, and other stakeholders money. The agricultural industry is an integral part of the Indian economy. This may have far-reaching repercussions, affecting everything from inflation to job losses (Bhargava, 2021). Conflict on the political front: the administration and the opposition parties are at an impasse because of the demonstrations. Because of this, tensions have arisen in an already delicate political climate, and lives have been lost. Diplomatic difficulties have arisen due to the worldwide attention and condemnation that the demonstrations have attracted. The country's international standing and relationships may suffer as a result. Question 4 Media coverage of Political science issues The attention that topics in political science get in the media and the stories that are reported in the news has a significant influence. When it comes to political issues, the news media significantly impacts both public opinion and subsequent discussion. How political events and crises are covered and framed in the media may greatly influence which stories are emphasized and which are disregarded. For instance, a political scandal or crisis that creates headlines is more likely to capture the media's attention than a policy issue with a more subtle and slow impact on the broader public. Consequently, the media may influence the public's viewpoint of which political topics
5 get extensive attention and which are kept in the background. The capacity of social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook to swiftly and broadly spread information has contributed to their increasing relevance in political discussions. Additional coverage from conventional channels may arise from the use of social media to amplify and develop momentum for certain political subjects (Greenwood, 2022).
