TOPIC PROPOSAL 2 Organization: The North Mississippi Regional Center is a facility for people with mental and physical disabilities. There are several departments at the North Mississippi Regional Center that assists in the care of the individuals housed there. Your Job: My job at the North Mississippi Regional Center is in the education department as an Active Treatment Technician or ATT. I work in a classroom setting with individuals. We have class Monday through Friday and each day there is something different for the individuals to learn. The individuals also get a chance to make money and learn about money management. The overall goal of the education department is to get the individuals to their highest functioning level possible. Presentation Audience: The audience I am presenting to is the director, assistant directors, and the Human Resource department. Topic: The North Mississippi Regional Center is a good place and has done so much for the individuals they serve. There are other branches of the North Mississippi Regional Center that spans 23 northern counties. The North Mississippi Regional Center has afforded many individuals a good opportunity to thrive and to get to their highest functioning level possible.
TOPIC PROPOSAL 3 The assistant directors often “bark” out orders without knowing how effective what they are asking would work. Communication is key and without effective communication nothing can get done or solved between staff. There are often times that the staff are given orders by the directors and/or assistant directors that they are expected to follow. So, the topic of my proposal would be to implement a way for staff to effectively communicate with one another. Adding effective communication measures lets the staff feel they are involved and are being heard and not barked at. Having effective communication avoids confusion between staff and the directors. The staff would be more receptive to information given to them when they are being talked to and not talked at. There are many staff that are employed at the North Mississippi Regional Center and its easy for a misunderstanding during communication. The main complaint is communication, but with the right tools that can be an easy fix. Conclusion: The North Mississippi Regional Center is overall an amazing company, but it can always improve. If the management gets worse and more employees are unhappy with the communication, and just decides to leave the facility altogether. It would be easier to attempt to rectify the situation with current staff rather than start the process of hiring new staff in.
