1 Information Literacy Workshop Four [Your First and Last Name] The University of Arizona Global Campus GEN103: Information Literacy [Instructor Name] [Due Date]
2 Instructions: The following paragraphs are provided for use in Information Literacy Work- shop 4: Academic Integrity. After reading the paragraphs, address the prompts that immedi- ately follow. Part I: Academic Integrity Paragraph 1: Using technology in the classroom is a skill that teachers must develop. One such area is the knowledge of digital citizenship and how this applies to students in the classroom. Common Sense Education (n.d.) provides a curriculum that teaches students how to safely interact in a digital environment. Safety is key, and digital etiquette skills are a continual process because technology changes so quickly. Technology is here to stay, and teachers can enhance lessons and learning in the classroom by increasing their digital literacy. Reference Common Sense Education. (n.d.) Digital citizenship curriculum . https://www.common- sense.org/education/digital-citizenship/curriculum Paragraph 2: Elder abuse is an issue the aging population faces. Individuals are at risk of abuse from caregivers and other individuals they interact with, such as someone who comes to clean their homes or to deliver groceries. One risk associated with elder abuse is depression. Those who are abused are more likely to experience depression than those who are not abused. In summary, el- der abuse is a serious issue among the aging population. Therefore, having a positive social sup- port system can help reduce abuse. Reference Koga, C., Tsuji, T., Hanazato, M., Suzuki, N., & Kondo, K. (2022). Elder abuse and depressive symptoms: Which is cause and effect? Bidirectional longitudinal studies from the JAGES. Journal of Interpersonal Violence, 37 (11 12). https://doi.org/ 10.1177/0886260520967135 Paragraph 3: Social media, such as TikTok, can be used as a marketing strategy. One study indicates that social media content impacts user engagement. “This study confirms that content containing dancing can increase comments and outperform informational content. Therefore, to enhance SME, Honda and Toyota could share more dancing videos on their TikTok accounts. In addition, although media formats (such as animations, music, and sounds) play less significant roles in stimulating SME, global high-involvement brands need to be careful when embedding language in their TikTok videos.” [social media engagement] After reviewing the three paragraphs provided,
3 · identify the paragraph that best demonstrates academic integrity by listing the paragraph number here: · explain the reasons behind your selection (at least 2 sentences). · identify the paragraphs that do not demonstrate academic integrity. · explain why the other two paragraphs do not demonstrate academic integrity (at least 2 sentences). Part 2: ICE Method Review the following writing sample. Then, identify the elements of the ICE method by complet- ing the bulleted items that follow the sample. Students can develop presentation skills in order to prepare for future careers. Keese and Bauer-Reich (2022) contend that one way to develop presentation skills during college is to hold mock conferences such as interview panels. This allows students to practice in a real-world sce- nario that includes factors such as dressing professionally, making eye contact, and using the per- fect tone of voice that hold the audience’s attention. Student presenters can further strengthen presentation skills by receiving feedback from their peers. Since professions may require speak- ing during meetings, training, and professional development, it is important to develop ways to improve speaking skills during the college experience.
