Personal Communication Profile
Psychology of Communication and Relationship Management
Personal Communication Profile
Communication is something we do without thinking as it comes naturally. As babies we
communicate through sign language. Our hands go out to pick a baby up, the baby soon learns that
this language of communication gets results. Crying is another form of attention. As babies age they
also learn to talk. They soon learn that saying the correct words along with body language, gets them
what they want. Communicating with people I find is my strongest asset and using verbal and
nonverbal communication can be testing, but beneficial used in the correct way. Currie (2007) states

Ince (2010) mentions, a head injury can damage a part of the brain responsible for memory. Severe
head trauma can cause permanent memory loss and confusion. A person may even need to learn
basis mathematics and writing skills again (pg 1).
Concentration and listening constitute a positive conversational base. The most important part of
communication is listening. The skill deficit the writer has in communication is concentration. I can
overcome this by taking my time documenting data in clearer detail and not rushing. Remembering
information is not a strong point within my communication. I have adopted a system where keeping
notes and documents is a major help to me. I have a strong ability in communicating with people,
talking, and getting them to feel comfortable and relaxed while visiting and interviewing them.
Readings in the Course Documents state, Interpersonal communication is the primary way we build,
refine and transform relationships (pg 32). It is important to make friendly eye contact while using
hand and facial gestures. This gives the person confidence and trust within you. Caution has to be
taken when dealing with different cultures. European customs may not have the same

How To Write A Personal Profile Essay
Alejandro is a vibrant and enthusiastic boy. I went to his house and had the opportunity to learn
about him and his family. I first started by introducing myself and creating an atmosphere for him
where he will feel comfortable talking with me. I asked him his name, age, and grade in school. He
then started talking about his friends at school and what they do during recess. I asked Alejandro if
he could share with me an object that is important to him. He ran to his room and brought back a
maraca. The maraca was brown. He showed me how he plays his maraca and started singing a song.
I asked him what does the maraca mean to him? He told me that the maraca is special to him
because his grandmother brought it to him from the Dominican Republic.

I told him that I will paly the maraca and he could sing for me. As soon as he started singing I
started playing the maraca he showed me how to hold it and how I can create different rhythms. He
even showed me videos of people playing the maraca on his iPad. His iPad was filled with videos of
people paying different instruments. He told me that his mother helps him search for videos and
save them so he can watch them on his free time. I asked him if there is anything else he could tell
me about the maraca. He said that his mother told him that the maraca is used in many countries and
that they have been used as a form of instrument for many years. Alejandro told me that in school he
learned how you could make on at home. Once when his friend came over they did maracas using
plastic cups, tape, and rice. He said he had fun making the maracas. He told me next time I come
and visit we could make maracas and I can take it home with me. I asked Alejandro if I could take a
picture of his maraca. Alejandro said yes and placed it himself on a wooden table. I then asked him
if he would like to know about something that is important to me. With a smile on his face he said

My Personal Identity Essay
A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests
and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some factors
may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a person
grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may
influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports,
and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person's taste
in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set individuals
apart. An individual is not a puppet

Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends
I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music'
is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of
adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding,
and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard,
aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a dirt
bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have
partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of
karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in
nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with
happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded
individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that, although some people
just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will not go anywhere but to
the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a person's identity. I have
not had too many educational

In doing my personality profile project, I learned new things, confirmed known things, and disagree

Assignment 1.1 Personal Power Profile
The assessment that I chose for this assignment was from the box 5.1 "Personal Power Profile." This
assessment is composed of a list of statements that describe possible behaviors of leaders in work
organizations. The end results are based on the response for each item. For example, strongly
disagree is equal to 1 point, disagree is equal to 2 points, neither agree nor disagree is equal to 3
points, agree is equal to 4 points and strongly agree is equal to 5 points. Consequently, I end up with
more points on referent power 4.5, followed by legitimate power 4.0, and expert power 4.0.
Referent power is role model power. This type of power depends on feelings of affection, esteem,
and respect for another individual. The benefits of this type

The amount of legitimate power someone has depends on the importance of the position she or he
occupies and the willingness to grant authority to the person in that position. The benefits of this
type of power are that incorporates weight of the entire organization, effective for gaining
obedience, helps large organizations function effectively. The costs are that lowers follower task
performance, lowers follower task satisfaction, and may become less effective overtime.
Expert power is based on the person, not on the position. This type of power influences people
because leaders supply needed information and skills.
What have you learned from completing this exercise? What I learned about this exercise is that I
confirmed my leadership style. I like to practice what I preach, as I do not expect others to do what I
do not do. I treat others with respect and courtesy, all the time, no matter what! I think that honesty
is the best policy, so I like to keep my team inform, and I do not pretend to have all of the answers, I
do apologize if I make a mistake. Gaining followers trust is most important to me, so I always make
sure that I communicate with them with valid/proven facts. However, I think that the legitimate
power comes into play when it's about "bossing" around people about their duties and

to eat, to plays, and to amusement parks when he could. That isn't to say that the relationship
between his parents was loving, as Jason's parents would fight constantly when Jason's dad was

Personal Leadership Profile Paper
When taking the two leadership surveys, it was interesting to see my personal leadership profile. My
leadership style according to the survey is the instructional type, which in another world is direct
leadership. My culture, upbringing, and work environment have transformed me to be direct leaders
that are looking for stability. My staff members sadly do not have the opportunity to have a job that
is autonomy; working in a manufacturing occupation, one has an organize agenda that cannot be
deviated from the task ahead. When team members are needing help or trying to build the familiarity

Conflict can be complex to understand when aggression happens in a group organization. When
looking at group dynamics in any vocation, adaptive conflict can be acceptable in a group. What is
conflict, one would ask? Conflict is a disagreement with an individual, it can also be an argument
with a person. Disagreements in any workgroup can be effective or ineffective.
The conflict that is flexible and encourages creativity, innovation or open–mindedness can create a
healthy work environment. The adaptive conflict has the opportunity to challenge group thinking. It
can push a dynamic group to create a different paradigm of a business. The further new thinking one

Human Personality Essay
A quote that I live by is, "People don't always behave the way you want them to, but it doesn't mean
the way they behave is wrong." This says to me that I cannot change anyone because I do not
understand or like the way someone does something. Trying to do this is trying to change one's
human personality. Human personality is what makes a person distinctive, unique, and exceptional.
Every person has a different personality and some personalities mesh better than others. Human
personality should always be praised and no one should ever put anyone down for having a different
personality. It is truly just allowing people to be who they are unless they are in violation of other
human's rights. Just as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Any

Examples of laws like this would be: wearing a seat belt, the possession of guns, the right to
abortion, and the ability to buy alcohol on Sundays. These types of laws are there because someone
else says that it is wrong to do these things. Trying to prevent supposedly wrong things from
happening seems like good intent but is actually unjust. An example of this is seat belt laws that try
to prevent anyone from getting seriously hurt in the event of a car accident. But if the driver or their
passengers do not want to buckle up why should the law force them. It may seem strange for some
people to not want to wear their seat belt but it is just because they have a different personality. The
only just laws are the ones that punish those that actually degrade someone's human personality.
Rape, murder, robbery, and fraud are all examples of this. When someone rapes another they are
taking away their free will to do whatever they choose. And those who commit that crime should be
punished. But to create laws to prevent rapes from occurring is unjust. These types of laws assume
that people will do wrong and that their human personality is wrong. People have the right to do
whatever they please whether it is moral or not and they deserve the consequences of their actions.
In conclusion, human personality is the essential character of a human being. It is not clear what
uplifts and what degrades human personality because it is human nature to

I Am Becoming A Person
People strive their entire lives at goals that lead to nothing. They work to complete things that the
micro–society around them has deemed "acceptable". Some may graduate high school, then hang
out in their neighborhood from nine to five. A few may marry off only to ponder on their true
dreams. Others attend college, then spend the rest of their lives working toward another person's life
goal. Then there are the people who go through the storm of life striving for the greatest
opportunities life should offer. I am becoming that person. The person who sees the possibilities in a
world of impossible. In my life, many would say a goal I've accomplished is surviving the many
unfortunate preconceived life obstacles that I have endured. From mother abandonment to having an
incarcerated father. Yet for myself my greatest life goal to date was not only being the first student to
study abroad from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) but being able to encourage
other African American students to pursue study abroad.
For me attending college felt like an opportunity to avoid being homeless and to pursue something I
naturally excelled in, education. The idea of college changing my life was merely a fantasy, but
upon entering college the thought of leaving the country had not been conceived yet. When I first
arrived at UMES I was curious but not satisfied. I felt as if I was paying for something that did not
grasp my interest. Apart of me craved more from life. Apart of me

Organizational behavior studies human behavior and the impact individual attitudes and actions
have on performance in the workplace. To provide a personal perspective of personality
characteristics, the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) assessment was used to measure
aspects of my personality and how these traits relate to working with others and life within an
organization. Key observations provide specific insight into how these are applied to workplace
behavior and interactions with others. Personal self–reflection related to workplace behavior is

Values and Attitudes Insights. Values highlight what we stand for and believe expressed through our
attitudes guiding behavior, decision–making, and action. Recognizing our values and how they are
reflected in our attitudes provides the foundation needed to understand who we are and how we
make choices. Scoring 3 points related to power demonstrates a low importance while scoring 10 in
Universalism demonstrates a higher developed concern for others without regard to position or other
allegiances. Combined with a positivity ratio of 8 (positivity tally of 8 divided by negativity tally of
1), the expectancy theory can be used to predict behavior when choice of actions must be made
(Kinicki & Fugate, 2016). Consequently, I am hopeful my behavior clearly reflects my devotion and
caring for others as witnessed in God's unconditional love.
Motivation Insights. Driven to public service, I identify with the high intrinsic motivation score of
27 and the correlation to Deci and Ryan's self–determination theory outlining a typical public
employee's motivation through a sense of duty and reputation for service (Park, 2012, p. 708).
Research has focused on social factors that enhance intrinsic motivation finding psychological needs
of autonomy, competence, and relatedness contributing to self–motivation (Ryan, 2000). Therefore,
these needs relate directly to the measured high levels of autonomy motivation (27 pts.), competence
motivation (27 pts.),

Essay on Community Profile
Introduction
The locality I have based my community profile on is Ardoyne. I feel that Ardoyne is familiar
enough for me to carry out my research as I have lived here all my life. Although my project is
based in Belfast city centre, we work with many groups and young people from the Ardoyne area.
this would prove beneficial to myself as I would sometimes have already developed a relationship
with the young people through community life.
I will firstly explore the community I have chosen by speaking to local people, using photographs,
and recordings of my observations. In doing so I intend to create a picture and overall feeling of the
community as well as the people who live here. This data will be accompanied by my own
comments in

For a community that witnesses a lot of conflict during each year Ardoyne is full of people who love
to chat and help out whatever why they can. The older generation in particular take pride in their
'what's mine is yours' attitude. While taking this picture an old lady quietly asked me if I was a
tourist. I replied laughing telling her no. she went on to tell me that she walked her granddaughter to
school through the protesters each morning while it lasted. In that time she had to endure spitting
and urine filled balloons being hurled at her by the protesters. She also talked about the day a pipe
bomb was thrown at the parents and children of the school. She said she 'wouldn't wish it on anyone'
as she slowly walked off. I couldn't help thinking what a bizarre experience just chatting with the
old lady, who was completely open to sharing her experience with me.
Improving a specific aspect of community life
The aspect of community life I have chosen to explore is the '
drinking culture
' within Ardoyne. In
the small area that is Ardoyne there are eight pubs, five of which being night clubs. I feel that this
environment is contributing to the many issues facing the community of Ardoyne.
There were a total of 547 offences

Personality Profile : My Personality Essay
I have to admit that I was skeptical at completing the personality profile. I thought, "How could a
few questions determine everything about my management style". When I received my results, I was
astonished at how accurate these results portrayed my personality. While deciding which of my
personality traits were advantageous and which were detrimental to my management style, I became
conflicted as all of my scores can be portrayed as both positive and negative depending on the
situation.
I would classify my most advantageous trait to be scoring very low on the neuroticism scale. I have
the ability to remain calm in the most stressful situations. Most would believe the neuroticism would
be a negative trait. The word neuroticism, taken from the word neurotic has a negative connotation.
Neuroticism is defined as being characterized as full of anxiety, fear, moodiness, worry, envy,
frustration, loneliness and jealousy. I personally scored very low on this personality trait. The low
score would categorize me as very calm, secure, hardy, relaxed and stable. The spectrum of these
traits all lends to handling tense situations with a calm, collected even temperament. Performing
managerial duties on a daily basis requires one to be all of these traits and more.
Imagine a business full of employees who would like to strike or walk out due to the fact of the
mother company has cancelled several of their benefits or an employee who has had multiple issue

My Mother Essay
What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics.
There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair
to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I
financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I mean,
she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential amenities
to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care. My

She would encourage me by simply saying, "Complaining is a useless way to solve problems, but
becoming active on the issue is a great way to conquer it. My mother My mother has always had
strong faith and views in her religion. When I was younger, every day and night, she would bring
prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the
seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time
was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us
with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's
rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good,
occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family
,
came to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the
agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see
the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give,
whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My

Community Profile Sample
Introduction
The community I am going to introduce you to is located in Cataumet. It is a great but little town
located next to Falmouth Massachusetts. The community I am going to deliberate about is my
neighborhood on a street named Shearwater Drive. I first became part of this community about a
month after moving into my new house after I met everybody that lived near me. It's a small
neighborhood with houses that go around a coldisac at the end of the road .The houses across from
me have been there for about forty years. There are only two houses that are new which is mine and
my other neighbor's house that have been there for only about three years built from the ground up.
My neighborhood community I belong to is simply amazing. It consists

When I tell people about the group I'm lucky enough to be a part of they either don't believe a
neighborhood could work in a positive way together or they are jealous that there are not a member
personally .Most people don't know how I can have such strong relationships with my " neighbors
".And to be quite honest I've lived in three towns trough out my life. In the three towns I have
previously lived in I have never been this close to any of my "neighbors" nor would I even imagine
having these strong bonds and friendships with the people who live right next to me .Surprisingly
the lady I have mentioned before Nancy has a lot in common with my family and is the closest with
my family because of the struggles both of our family endured in the past .Our community is full of
loving and non–judge mental people. But the best is we all know when we are going through
something negative in our life that is when our bond is the strongest. We all come together and each
do something for the person who is going through a hard time. Whether that's cooking for someone,
taking their dog out, giving people rides places. Those are just a few examples what we do for each
other when things get tough .I can honestly say I don't even have family members that would do
what the members of the community do or would do for me .Effect of honor and humiliation on
community members is never

Essay on Profile of a Person
Raphael Colmanette 1
Dr.McDonough 10/16
First Year Writing
Clash Of Cultures
There are a lot of people around Belmont University with different concepts, different goals,
different experiences, different cultures, but most important, different methods of thinking. When I
realized that I would need to write a profile of someone else, I thought it would be the easiest essay
that I have ever done. Contrary to my expectations, I realized that to write someone else's profile is
kind of hard, because it is not only a simple thing such as just write the entire life of the person. A
lot of stuff is behind the profile of a person. When I first thought about who I should interview, I
was kind of lost, because I do not know a lot of people

The guy that I am talking about is Andrew Gordon Conner, who has born on august 8 1992, and he
is the person that organize my hall, and needs to maintain the organization, like a security, known
here in the U.S as R.A. I knew that he was a different guy with a lot of experiences for me to know,
but actually he was way more than that.
Andrew was born at Bangkok, Thailand. At the time he told me that, I became so interest to know
about the culture
, and all the differences between there and here. The most interesting thing about
Andrew is that he has already lived in few different places and knows a lot of different cultures. He
lived there in Bangkok until his six years old, and he had a good life there. He was used to live in a
property where his family was the only white family in the whole building, what for me, I think it
would be kind of scary, but according to him, it was kind of normal for him and his parents. His dad
was used to work for a company back in Bangkok that when Andrew was six, the company changed
place to Arizona, United States. With six years, he had already challenged the difficulties of change
home to another country, and especially the big change of culture.
Andrew was lucky to move when he was only six, because whenever you have more then ten years
and had already made a lot of friends, and had already gone to school, it would be much harder to
get used to
