There will be several types for each scenario. (Based on Chapter 9) Go to next page for part 2 of 2 Scenario List the Types of Reports a. Your company’s two-year study of traditional classroom training versus distance-learning instruction is to be written for publication in an industrial training journal. Informal and informational. f. As director of end-user computing, you have prepared a report for circulation to all departments. The report summarizes technology and human relations training offerings available through your department. Formal, short, analytical, and vertical.
Part 2 of 2: Design a Research Study: Prepare a one-page descrip/on of your plan to solve the problem for the two research studies described below. Use the following headings for the problem: (a) Statement of the Problem, (b) Research Method and Sources of InformaRon, (c) Nature of Data to Be Gathered and Analyzed, (d) Hypothesis or Null Hypothesis to Be Proved or Disproved (if feasible). 1. As administrator of Greater Lewisville Health Services, a family health clinic, you have mailed an informaRve brochure to each paRent that describes the need to receive the influenza vaccine. Although the flu season is approaching, very few paRents have come in to receive their injecRons. 2. Karen’s Frozen Foods, Inc., is considering adding frozen breakfast pizza to its product line in an effort to overcome the flat profit line it has experienced for several years. The markeRng staff intends to target the product to teenagers and working couples whose busy schedules require foods that can be heated quickly. Because all producRon faciliRes are currently operaRng at full capacity, introducing the frozen pizza will require adding producRon capacity. #1: Statement of the Problem: Patients are not getting serious or thinking that the dangers of FLU are important as they haven’t come up to the clinic to have their Influenza Vaccines injected. Research Method and Sources of Information: The research method that would need to be used would include an online survey, surveying patients, and surveying people on the street. Quantitive and Qualitative research would be needed. Secondary and observational data would have to be analyzed to get a real idea of why people are behaving so unserious.
Secondary data would be a great source of information as past research can be studied to figure out every detail needed. We will also need to use regression to figure out the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. Nature of Data to be Gathered and Analyzed : The data to be gathered and analyzed would be primary data as the researcher would be getting involved in the collection of data. There would be a lot of quantitative analysis. We would have to look at regression and correlation to understand the dependency of one variable for the other. The data taken would mostly be information of why patients are choosing not to get the vaccine. Hypothesis: The hypothesis is that people/patients are not worried about the flu until they themselves see someone close to them get it. There is no urgency to get the vaccine because people do not believe they will get it. #2: Statement of the Problem: Is adding a new production capacity to introduce a new product in the Markey feasible? Research Method and Sources of Information: The research method used here will mostly contain primary research of those who are most likely to eat frozen pizza (teenagers and younger small families) about whether they agree with the idea of having frozen pizza as a product in breakfast. We could also ask what other frozen breakfast foods would be nice to have. This would lead to primary research being done using online forms, surveys, feedback forms, and more. Data from other cases where companies have tried to add a certain frozen food and were other successful or not and why would be collected as well.

Nature of Data to be Gathered and Analyzed: The data to be gathered would have to be very new and up to date. With an investment of a new product being involved, monetary factors would have to be taken into account with other external factors. There would have to be a study on the correlation between the future lifestyles of how people eat with the idea of frozen pizzas. Hypothesis: The hypothesis is that the new production will give the company profit as people tend to rush and want fast solutions to breakfast such as frozen pizzas.
