There are about 8 videos in this YouTube collection. Select the ones you would like to view and reflect on these questions. 1. Was there a common theme in the videos you watched? Ans- Yes, there was common theme in the videos. Technology is incorporated more in classroom settings. Students are encouraged to use the technology as it helps them to learn more easily. Government is also implementing technology across Canada. 2. What were some of the strategies team members used to support the use of the various technologies? Ans -  Working collaboratively with individual teachers or groups of teachers to integrate technology into instruction  Assisting with curriculum and content development  Disseminating information regarding technology resources, emerging technologies, best practices using technology, and professional development opportunities  Facilitating or conducting technology-related professional development for school staff 3. What do you think the overarching goal should be when implementing assistive technologies with students? Ans- Implementing assistive technology may be an important component of K-12 education for any student with a disability, but often proves more important for students with physical disabilities. As students with physical disabilities move into adulthood, they may have a higher reliance on assistive technology than students with learning or cognitive disabilities to function more independently in home and community

settings. 4. In this self-directed course, you will be working a great deal on your computer. How comfortable are you, yourself, with technology? Are there areas you feel you should know more about or skills you should develop that would help you use technology more effectively with students? Ans - I am well acquainted with the technology and its various usage in the field of education in order to do collaboration, team work, engaging students etc. Module Activities One Thumb to Rule Them All To really be inspired by how much assistive technology can change someone’s life, watch “One Thumb to Rule Them All” an AssistiveWare ( www.assistiveware.com ) YouTube video showcasing Mike Phillips, a gamer and free lance technology writer. Mike uses his thumb, a proximity switch, and scanning array on his computer to play games, write documents and deliver presentations at conferences. Be prepared to be amazed!
