Cepheid variables are important in studying celestial objects because the period of their pulses are directly linked to their intrinsic brightness. The process of fiery hot young stars triggering high-velocity winds that blow the gas outwards.

Explain what infrared reveals in the pillars that visible light images can not. b. The new infrared image of the area is useful because it helps us to see past the clouds and dust to get a better visual of the pillars. When infrared is shown on the pillars it reveals the stars that are inside of the nebular that wouldn’t be seen in visible light images.
