Part One Chapter one Proof of plot in the TW 2002 MUD “Image by sakura hansford This chapter will provide an explanation of what mud is, as well as empirical data from a pilot for the TW2002 game. In this game, each player must choose a username and then a name for their vessel. All pilot names, as well as their corresponding ship names and types, are shown in the accompanying image. The ranking on the left represents the player's level of proficiency and position in the game. Players can improve their standing by participating in the game. My current rank is 31 Annoyance, which is a common starting point for new players. Players can change their ranking name in the game as they advance in rank and experience points. My name is Icedragonqueen, and my ship is named after one of my favorite online games. I spent a lot of time playing it until the company was forced to cancel all of their games because they could not get out of the red games. According to the head company, they will close their branch in the United States. The game Starship Promise is one of my favorites. It was not difficult to come up with a name for your ship when TW2002 asked you to. My pilot name was chosen because it is based on one of my favorite MMO games. It is the kiss by the baddest bidder. My husband is the boss of the Hong Kong mafia and my favorite character in the entire game. I named myself after the Ice Dragon Queen, which is the name of the mafia group in the game I played. 3

Chapter two Were you satisfied with your score? The score from MUD that I got from playing the game is yes, and I am satisfied with that total. Why or why not? The reason I am satisfied with my score is because I played this game as part of my assignment. Another reason I am satisfied with my score is the time I put into playing the game. “Image by sakura This score was the final ranking, and I didn’t make it on the board. But before the final score, I was 28. But then I got killed and couldn’t play because midterms came first before this game. Does it adequately reflect the time and energy put into the game? My feeling would be that I agree that my score did reflect the time I put into the game. I did not get much time in because I was getting killed so frequently. I would devote more time and effort to playing this game. If I do not get killed every time I play the game, the amount of energy put 4
into the game will increase. But in the game, that time and energy had to wait 24 hours to hit, then I spent the energy and time playing until I got killed again by the same player. Then I had to waste that energy and time waiting for another round of 24 hours before playing again. It is a little hard to put in effort, energy, and time if I can’t help getting killed. Chapter three Describe your play How would you characterize/categorize it? Image by Sakura Describe your play How would you characterize/categorize it? In this game, my role was more about trading, exploring, and claiming or taking over planets. When I was out exploring the galaxy in Tw2002, I discovered that there are a lot of unexplored planets out there to make and build. In the games, I claimed and conquered approximately 9 planets. I enjoy claiming planets that have been explored but have yet to be claimed. Take the planet of the person and keep me to my way of retaliation; I stole all of his planets that you claimed or created for my own. The top picture is about when I was checking if this planet had anything to trade, but there wasn’t anything I wanted from them. So I left that planet and continued my exploration. “Image by sakura hansford " Image by sakura hansford 5
These two screenshots show me discovering this planet, claiming it as my own, converting it to an earth-style planet, and loading all the cloonisit on it. I also took all the material on the planet and left some fighters on it to protect it. This is not the first time I claimed a planet; I have about nine planets to my name in this game. Did you have fun playing the game? At first, I did not care for the game, but as it progressed, I began to enjoy it. I began to enjoy the game because of the exploration and claiming of planets, as well as the creation of planets and trading. “Image by sakura Once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed trading; the more I traded, the better I got at it in the game, and I liked what the seller said to you when you were out. Some of the conversations I had with some of the sellers in the game: When you outsmart or outbeat the seller or buyer, they say the most amusing things, and how they react to your response is hilarious. This is one of my favorite exchanges. Convergence going on, I underpay them, and then they want to buy my cargo, so I overpay them, and then we were like, maybe I can sell them to another fool who will take them. The different conversions with the seller are funny. "Image by Sakura" 6

" What do different buyers say to you when you outwit them"? Another one of my favorites from seller TW2002. When the buyer thought I was a fool, I proved to them that I wasn't, and I oversold them, which irritated them. The buyer then said to me, "We will you drive hard bargain; they will take what I am selling at that price," and then left. “Image by sakura hansford This was a conversation I was having with another buyer on another planet. Because of how they treated and spoke to me, this buyer most likely believes I am new to the trading game. But I show them that I am not a novice when it comes to trading. I was the one who showed them who was the boss of the trade. Like this line, I hate hanging; they’re all yours. The only time I was not having fun in this game was when my own guildmate kept killing me for no apparent reason. It was not It was unpleasant because I had to wait 24 hours before connecting to the game, which was not enjoyable at all. Chapter four Engage course readings that tie into chapters 1-3 part 1. Which of the following best describes Nardi's experience conducting an ethnographic investigation in reading? So, similar to Nardi's experience conducting an ethnographic investigation in WoW, I had a similar experience with the MUD TW 2002 game, where I did the same thing as Nardi but in the TW 2002 game rather than the WOW game. So, similar to Nardi's experience conducting an ethnographic investigation in WoW, I had a different experience with the MUD TW 2002 game, doing the same as Nardi but in the TW 2002 game rather than the WOW MMO game. There were some distinctions between the two; for example, I was playing a mud game rather than a mmo. The concept was still the same 7
Part 2 (The gameplay of others) How often did you encounter other players? Especially when I had a question or wanted to complain about some nefarious activity in the game. What did they do? One example is when I asked in the discard chat where the best places to trade and park my ship were. One of my classmates even gave me a list of the best places to trade, the best places to avoid, and the best places to check out where I can dock my ship. The picture is me asking in the Discord chat where the best place is to trade and dock my ship. Bilnky is the one who advised me, as seen in the image above. Following this advice from a classmate, I was able to begin enjoying the game and improving my trading skills. I can physically collect a lot of money by experimenting with those sections. I was also able to buy a large number of goods from those sections and Explorer to new sections, and I had enough money to buy new items for my ship the next day, but I was unable to do so because I had planned to do so the next day. My ship had been destroyed, and I had lost everything—all of my goods, all of my money, everything I had collected and earned the day before—when I logged in the next day. 8
As a result, I will have to restart from scratch. I needed to get a new ship and begin again. I will go back to my planets and collect goods to resell. I was doing well until I was killed again by the same person, which was inconvenient. But because I was killed, I lost it. But that is a different story, so I appreciate my classmate's advice. My guildmate assassinated me another time. He never stops killing me. But you keep As a result, I will have to restart from scratch. I needed to get a new ship and begin again. I will go back to my planets and collect goods to resell. I was doing well until I was killed again by the same person, which was inconvenient. 9

Chapter 2 Can you compare the activities of others to your own, both inside and outside the game? Yes, I compare the trading to others inside the game and think I did great on the front. I don’t feel like comparing the game outside of the game with others because they are of higher rank than me. A lot of the others play hunting and killing other players, and I don’t do that at all; I just play it safe. That was fun for me. Does this, in any way, make you consider your play differently? After seeing how people were playing no matter what, I wouldn’t consider playing differently because I wouldn’t enjoy the game that way because I wouldn’t play this game if it wasn’t part of my assignment for this class. So I do not see why I would play this game differently; it would not make any difference to me. What sorts of behaviour would you consider cheating in TW2002? Assassinating your own guildmate Did you witness any of this kind of behaviour? That has happened to me several times. To me, cheating would be killing off a teammate to gain experience points and a higher ranking; if you are in a guild, you are supposed to help encourage teammates not to kill them off so you can gain experience points and a higher ranking; killing off someone and gaining high rankings is cheating, and I do not think it is right if you are in a guild. Chapter 3 : reading tie to chapter 1-3 from Part 2 Does the assignment engage course readings Fine (1983) Shared Fantasy Intro and Chapter 3.pdf - Alternative Formats This reading discusses teamwork and how you can work as a team. How do you assist everyone who requires assistance and collaborate? We did not really play together like D&D or MMO, but we are still guildmates for the class and help each other through the game in discord, so there was no reason for your guildmates to kill off another guildmate. Nardi (2010) My Life as a Night Elf Priest.pdf 11
This reading discusses how playing with others is preferable to playing alone. That all changed when your team or guildmate made it their mission to go out looking for you so they could kill you, giving you a new reason to do justice and giving them a reason to kill you. The two readings connect the reasons why people should not attack or harm their only teammate or guildmate because there is no reason to do so in the first place. 12

Part 3 (tie the experience to your discipline) Chapter 1 : How does your field of study help you better understand the MUD? Tw2002 is an online multiplayer game that requires trading, combat, and exploration in the digital realm. Playing this MUD does not impact forensic science. It has the potential to subtly improve teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities, which can be advantageous in the forensic science field. Engaging in TW2002 gameplay could promote critical thinking, meticulousness, and intricate system analysis, all of which are crucial competencies in the field of forensic science. Playing with complex game mechanics and going through different scenarios could lead to a more methodical and detailed mindset when handling evidence or biological processes, similar to how forensic scientists and biologists dissect evidence and intricate biological systems. This could also help in the cyber security sector, and it can also help with forensic digital media because you can learn how these game interfaces work, and then that can also help get into the dark web. The abilities developed during gameplay may have an impact on a more analytical and structured approach to problem-solving and investigation in these fields, even though the game itself may not directly involve forensic science or biology. TradeWars 2002 has the potential to develop soft skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail, which are beneficial for biology and forensic science. Although the game itself has no direct connection to these fields, the abilities gained from playing could have an impact on a more analytical and methodical approach to research and biological analysis. 13
Chapter 2: And/ Or, what does the MUD make available in terms of thinking about your field of study? According to my point of view, Some key concepts that can be used from both fields to connect to the MUD game are following So, in this game, we employ both same Concepts like improve teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Use these concepts both in the game and real life and in forensic sciences and biology sector . Legal science is the application of science and technology to investigate and establish facts in criminal or civil courts. Researchers work to gather evidence that will allow police to identify violations. So, in this game, Trade Wars 2, we use both the concepts of forensic science and biology, which can be used to connect with the mud game, in my opinion. Chapter three How do you understand/think differently about your field of study after playing TW2002? The abilities developed during gameplay may have an impact on a more analytical and structured approach to problem-solving and investigation in these fields, even though the game itself may not directly involve forensic science or biology. Explanation: The game may help develop abilities that are similar to the analytical and methodical mindset needed in biology and forensic science, which could have an impact on how someone approaches problem-solving and research in these fields. Just as we collect goods in the game, 14
we need to collect goods for criminal investigation. Just like you do the game u need to use improve teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities to do trading , exploring and try to stay alive in this game just like you do in the real world. 15

Conclusion Part 1would be my favorite part of this game would be trading and exploring but if it wasn't part of the assignment that you have to play this game to get marks I don't think I'll play it as much or really care if I died I would just say okay whatever and then go on and do other things but since it was for Mark I put in enough effort I tried to it's kind of hard when you keep dying of course I'm killing you. part 2 there are people that are very helpful they were in my guild and outside my guild so I thought that was pretty cool how Outsiders would help different guilds and give them tips so that was pretty cool didn't like the fact that my own guild member kind of kill me many many times so to me it feels like that person doesn't really appreciate teamwork based on fin reading is D&D that you have to work as a team and Nadi reading talk about how they also work as a team if feel like guild mate are helpful then it will feel like u are playing alone then you would want to quit. part 3 game is itself doesn't really have anything to do with my major or my field of study but it does use the same Concepts like problem solving, teamwork strategies and abilities to be able to collect, analysis evidence. Work with differentcompanies and agencies. So this game does teach you good teamwork problem solving and strategizing that is excellent for my field study. 16
